Taking the time to understand how to deal with insecurities and turning them into strengthens is a big reason why I have been able to build genuine confidence. Confidence can be gained by repetition which leads to familiarity which gives you confidence that you can do that thing again because you have done it before. The problem with that logic is that it’s surface level confidence. Real genuine confidence is being able to muster up the courage to do something that you have never done before. Stacking past experiences and skills with current habits opens the door to bravery, courage & resourcefulness which are the ingredients to genuine confidence that everyone around you will immediately be able to notice.
In this video, I start out by sharing a personal experience of mine when I was in 5th grade where my teacher made me do the chicken dance! Breaking down this experience as well as other ones that you may have experienced yourself will give you the perspective and methods necessary to build the confidence that you desire. Dealing with insecurity isn’t easy and this video isn’t meant to replace a discussion with a licensed therapist but with that said, from my experience the longer you wait to address the root cause of where your insecurities came from the more diligent and more relentless you need to be to make change happen. Staying determined to do things that scare you, while increasing your knowledge will lead to the best version of you. Thats the version that you can truly be proud of and the one deserving of a life where you make the rules.
